
B.H. "Pete" Fairchild was born October 17, 1942 in Houston. He spent his childhood in Houston, Liberal, Kansas, and other small dustbowl towns as his father, a machinist, followed the oil rigs. He took a BA and an MA at the University of Kansas and a PhD at the University of Tulsa. In 2005 he retired from full-time teaching at California State University at San Bernardino where he had been a member of the English department faculty since 1976. He resides in Claremont, California.
His poetry includes: Local Knowledge, The Arrival of the Future, Such Holy Song, The Art of the Lathe, and Early Occult Memory Systems of the Lower Midwest.
