Pitiful. It seems Corrupt City cannot throw money at Apple fast enough. In spite of the $36 million in corporate bribes (aka incentives) Apple one of the richest corporations in the world is frustrated that it is not offered more, proving once again that with great riches goes insatiable greed.
Okay, in truth, it is Corrupt County that is holding the deal up by not adding to the $6.4 the county has already put in the pot. Apple, of course, is destroying the Serengeti in its quest for rare earth elements to put in iThings, so you would think Corrupt County would see how dangerous it can be not to give Apple what Apple thinks it is entitled to.
But this kind of crookedness is commonplace in Corrupt City which so far has coughed up $8.6 million for the Apple bribery fund. I first noticed it when Dr. Charles Urdy reneged on a campaign promise to vote to offer bribes to Motorola with the excuse that it would create jobs. Of course it always turns out that the few jobs for local people are janitorial, and otherwise the work force is imported to squeeze locals out of the housing market.
Lately, however, Corrupt City while picturing itself as clean and green, to the point of forbidding merchants to give free bags to customers, cannot seem to give money fast enough to earth-destroying enterprises like Apple and Formula One racing.
